MAY2013-02-01 "Phase I Trial of a Therapeutic DNA Vaccine for Chronic Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) Infection"

  • Are you or do you have...?
    • 18 years of age or older?
    • Chronic Hepatitis C infection?
    • No previous treatment for Hepatitis C?
    • No evidence of Hepatitis B or HIV infection?
  • You may be eligible for a clinical trial opening soon that will test a vaccine that may prevent or cure Hepatitis C.
    • Enrolling sites in Rochester, MN; Philadelphia, PA; Indianapolis, IN, and Jacksonville, FL
    • The study involves 13 study visits, blood tests, 4 vaccine injections, and questionnaires about your side effects, symptoms, and experiences on the study
    • You will be on the study for about 36 weeks plus a few follow-up phone calls.
    • You may receive funds to help with the expenses associated with participating in the study
    • If you choose to participate, there may be risks associated with the vaccine injections, such as redness, soreness, muscle pain, or fatigue.
    • There may or may not be a direct benefit for you. We do not know whether or not the vaccine will prevent or cure Hepatitis C. However, if the results from this clinical trial are positive, we may be closer to a vaccine to prevent Hepatitis C.
